What a busy month I’ve had!
First Mike went off kayaking at the beginning of the month. He kayaked from Kendal to London for Cancer Research UK.
This was me sitting under his boat just before he left. Then he was ready to go with Clive. After he’d gone I sat where his boat had been standing for the first day.
Jan and me really missed him as he was gone for almost 4 weeks!
While Mike was away I had to go to Collaton Kennels for some of the time because Jan was at work and I had a lovely time with Steph.
One weekend while Mike was away I went with Jan to join in with Kenilworth Literacy Festival. Kenilworth Books had asked Jan to go and read from my books in the Story Tent. It was a lovely afternoon and the children really enjoyed listening to some of my stories.
Many thanks to James, Alan and Ingrid who came and helped Jan on the day.
Finally Mike arrived back in London at Teddington Lock and Jan went to fetch him.
We’d made a big banner and got balloons to welcome him back and say how brilliantly he’d done. 400 miles kayaking had been completely exhausting!
When Mike got home I didn’t recognise him because he’d grown a very itchy beard!
He loved his Welcome Home sign too.
Well done Mike for all your hard work! However I really hope you don’t go away again, I missed you lots.
Life’s back to normal now…it’s lovely having my family around me and back in the marina!
Big woofs, Chico.
